The SRJC Poultry Project proudly presents the 2nd annual

Chicken-Stravaganza

Sunday, May 18th 2014 - 10am to 2pm

At the beautiful Shone Farm Campus


This is a FREE EVENT where everyone is welcome to come learn and share the joy of chickens.

Speakers will include
Dr. Dan Famini (SRJC Poultry Instructor and Veterinarian)
Dr. Richard Blatchford (UCDavis Animal Science Dept)
Cathy Burgett (Chef and SRJC Culinary Instructor)
Dr. Maurice Pitesky (UC Cooperative Extension Poultry Specialist)
Dr. Asli Mete (California animal health and food safety laboratory)

Some of the subjects will include,
chicken bandaging and wound care, behavior assessment, poultry toxins, marek's disease, benefits of cooking with fresh eggs vs. store bought, and more.

There will also be tours of the SRJC layer flocks, A pot luck lunch (everyones welcome to bring a dish to share), wine and olive oil tasting from the on-site winery and orchards, Kids activities, and
bring a couple eggs from your birds to be part of the Egg Rainbow!
